Locally we offer you opportunities to minister in prisons, read to students, dental clinic, minister in a homeless shelter, and much more. You can engage your world by starting with the people in your own community.
We also want to help you become aware of the tremendous needs that exist around the world. We have in the past and plan to in the future offer you opportunities to go overseas to minister to people’s physical and spiritual needs.
Telling your story with both your words and your actions is the most effective way to engage your world.
Engage Your World Locally
When we encourage people to engage their world intentionally we know that the world begins in our own community, the places we work, play, and live. We also know it’s not going to happen by accident. We have to intentionally or purposefully look for opportunities to develop relationships with people who are not Christians.
One of the best ways to develop those relationships is by showing the love of Christ not just with our words but also with our actions. That’s why we provide opportunities for you to engage locally.
Contact Nick Grice at (704) 822-1933 ext. 205 to learn more about these opportunities.
Prison Ministry
Join us in serving the prisoners and staff at the Lincoln County Correctional Center. We regularly hold a worship service for the inmates and need people to go with us. We also do cookouts and games for the inmates and staff at different times throughout the year. Requires lots of willing hands!
Reading with Students
Do you want to make a lasting impact on the life of a child? Volunteer to read with students who need a little extra attention for about an hour a week.
Dental Clinic
Real Life Church hosts a mobile dental clinic each year in the fall season at the Lucia Campus. This ministry provides fillings, extractions, and cleanings for those less fortunate in our area. We need lots of volunteers, especially those who work in the dental field such as dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants.
Hesed House of Hope
We provide a meal for homeless shelter residents on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Help is needed with meal prep and serving from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. We also host a Bible study/devotion time on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 7:45 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The King’s Daughters Ministry is a residential ministry providing counseling, education, and daily life skills to women 18-30 and their children who may be homeless, battered, self-harming, or recovering from substance abuse.
RLC Food Pantry
The generosity of our members and the larger community has expanded our food pantry ministry exponentially. We collect food and toiletry items and disperse them to those in our community as needed during church office hours 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday –Thursday.
Engage Your World Globally
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 NIV)
When we encourage people to engage their world intentionally it goes far beyond our own community, as Jesus said it goes, “to the ends of the earth”. So we seek to share the love of Christ with our words and actions all over the world. That’s why we provide opportunities for you to engage globally.
Our newest partnership is with World Vision. We were "chosen" by children in Zambia this summer. Join our Chosen Facebook Group to see how to contact your child and to share your experiences. Learn more about sponsoring a child through World Vision, here.
